In loving memory of Michel “Mike” V. Robert 78 years. Passed away peacefully on Sunday, December 31st, 2023 at Health Sciences North.
Beloved husband of 30 years to Pauline (nee Woltman). Loving father of Gisèle van Hijfte-Robert (Joris) and André (Teresa) and step-father of David Clarke (Esther), Michael Ryan Clarke predeceased, and Julie Ann Clarke. Cherished grandpa of Justin, Melanie, Yasmine, Monique, Mathieu, Jaccob, Nicholas, and Katherine. Predeceased by his parents Valmore and Blanche Robert (nee Marcotte). Dear brother of Gaston (Lisette), and brother-in-law of Louise Conte predeceased (Frank), and Raymond Woltman (Carol). He will be sadly missed and lovingly remembered by many nieces, nephews, family and friends.
Mike worked for the City of Greater Sudbury for 33 years, retiring in 2002. He was huge Formula 1 fan, and a car fanatic. Mike and Pauline took many road trips over the years, all over North America. He was a laid-back social butterfly and loved talking to anyone, and was lovingly known in his neighbourhood as Dr. Phil.
The family would like to express a heartfelt thank you to the staff, nurses, PSW’s (especially Cai) and doctors at Health Sciences North and Bayshore for their excellent care.
At his request, there will be no visitation or service. Cremation at the Park Lawn Crematorium with burial in the family plot at Lasalle.
A celebration of his life will be held on Saturday, May 4th, 2024 at Tony V's restaurant from 12-3pm.
