NORTH BAY — A North Bay independently owned small business has taken a big theft hit for the second time in two years.

Arnstein Equipment on Highway 17 East discovered the theft of 15 snowblowers Wednesday.

"We have struggled greatly with this post, but we feel it is something we need to address," the company posted on social media.

"Sadly, when we arrived at work yesterday morning, we were met with cut open gates and the reality that we had been robbed overnight. When you experience a robbery, you go through a wave of emotions. We felt them all yesterday - sadness, anger, frustration, disbelief and yes, defeat. As the day unfolded and we checked what inventory we had left, we were shocked to realize that 15 snowblowers had been taken. For a small business like ours, this is a big financial hit but as we have come to realize in life and business...the show must go on."

But it's business as usual for Arnstein Equipment.

"We will continue to sell quality products and offer excellent customer service. North Bay is our home and we will not be defeated. We thank our loyal customers for their continued support. Somebody somewhere knows something about the people who took our items. You may have stolen our merchandise but we will not let you take our spirit or our business."

City police say the investigation identified that sometime between 5 p.m. on Dec. 3 and 6:30 a.m. on Dec. 4, thieves forced entry into the fenced compound and stole a total of 15 snow blowers that were still in boxes and unassembled. The 15 snow blowers (12 Airens and 3 Greenworks) have a combined value of approximately $30,000.

Police are asking anyone with information that may assist with this investigation to call the North Bay Police Service at 705-497-5555.

Two years ago a John Deere tractor with mower deck, as well, 10 snow blowers were stolen from the same business.

At that time owner David Culin told BayToday, ""We are extremely upset that this has happened and is an incredible blow to a small local business. We have insurance but it has a very large deductible on it. It's a big blow for sure."
