The box office at Sudbury Theatre Centre is no longer nameless.

It's been named the DiBrina Box Office after financial services company DiBrina Group donated $50,000 to the theatre.

STC's artistic executive director, Caleb Marshall, said in the two years since he started working at the theatre, he's expanded its offerings so it offers music, dance and comedy performances.

He said he wanted to make sure the theatre didn't “sit dark for three or four weeks at a time while we make a play.”

“All of those additional programs require investments, and we couldn't be more thrilled by this commitment of support from the DiBrina Group,” Marshall said.

“We have a lot of partners in this community. This is one of the more substantial contributions that we've received in many, many years.”

DiBrina Group chief financial officer Frank Cinotti said the whole company is excited about the partnership with STC because of the great work the theatre does.

“When we brought this forward to the partnership group, it was unanimous that this is a great opportunity, and we should be going ahead with this right away,” he said.

While the theatre is receiving an immediate cash infusion, DiBrina Group wants to sit down with STC to see what else it can do.

“If there's an opportunity for us to find other ways to work with the theatre centre, we definitely want to do that,” Cinotti said.
