Replacing worn out flags on the Bridge of Nations

The Bridge of Nations Committee member Ursula Sauve and her husband Herve recently replaced worn out flags on the Paris St. bridge. The committee is testing out flags made of different types of fabric to see which ones are more weather resistant.

The Bridge of Nations Committee member Ursula Sauve and her husband Herve recently replaced worn out flags on the Paris St. bridge. The committee is testing out flags made of different types of fabric to see which ones are more weather resistant.

Phase two of The Bridge of Nations is currently underway for Canada Day 2008. The committee is looking for flags representing countries not yet installed. Countries already committed to fundraising are Bahamas, Cyprus, Djibouti, Iceland, Morocco, Romania, Russia, Thailand and Turkey.

clipSupport is needed to raise $1,200 to help pay for poles, brackets, flags and installation. Anyone interested in seeing their country's flag flying on the Bridge of Nations or to offer support to existing flags can contact Leanne Tucker City of Greater Sudbury at 671-2489 ex 2422 or Dan Lee at 524-5084. The deadline is March 31 2008.
