Greater Sudbury Fire Services responded to a vehicle fire on the Kingsway this afternoon at around 4:30 p.m.
When fire crews arrived the vehicle had pulled into the Dairy Queen parking lot and was in flames.
"We responded with two fire engines because the vehicle was quite close to the building," said GSFS platoon chief George Lalonde. "When they got there they were able to handle the fire with just one engine."
The vehicle was totalled in the fire, and no injuries were reported.
"It was a mechanical problem that caused the fire," said Lalonde. "No one was injured and there was no damage to any nearby buildings or vehicles."
