This summer, Sudbury.com is on the hunt for the best our city has to offer in a series we've named Summer's Best.
So far, we've asked you, the readers, to vote for Sudbury's best chip stand and golf course. Last week we asked: Where is the best beach in Greater Sudbury? Moonlight Beach was the clear winner.
Before everyone loses their minds in the comment section, yes, we are aware that Moonlight Beach is currently under a swimming advisory due to a possible blue-green algal bloom on Ramsey Lake.
However, the Sudbury & District Health Unit assured Sudbury.com that as of Wednesday, the bloom was floating quite a distance from the main swimming area.
As a precaution, the health unit posted signs advising the public to avoid swimming, drinking the water and allowing pets into the water if the algal bloom is present at the beach.
If no bloom is present, water can be used for regular recreational activities.
