In loving memory of Lucy Bil who passed away February 28th, 2022. Born in Poland, Lucy lived through and survived World War II. Later in life, she immigrated to Canada with her husband and 3 young children. She lost her husband in a car accident shortly afterwards and was left alone with her three young children in a foreign country at a young age. Not knowing how to speak the English language she desperately wanted to return to her homeland Poland. Friends and Canadian officials advised her against moving back to Poland amidst its turmoil. They said she would have a better life in Canada. She decided to stay and made a life for herself and her three young children. She endured many hardships over the years - working up to three jobs at one time, to make ends meet. She became a strong and independent woman; someone I learned to respect and admire. I couldn't be happier and prouder to call her "My Mom". She is the light in my life that will never stop shining. She will live on in my heart forever. Lucy is predeceased by her parents, two brothers, sister, husband and two sons. She leaves behind her grandchildren and great grandchildren, her daughter and son-in-law. Our love to her always. She is in God's hands now. Funeral Mass at St. Casimir’s Church, 210 Paris St, Sudbury, Saturday March 5th at 10 A.M. Entombment will take place at the Civic Memorial Mausoleum. If desired, donations to a charity of your choice would be appreciated.  Arrangements entrusted to the Jackson and Barnard Funeral Home.
