Carter George Wilber Esau, beloved husband, father, grandfather, and owner of Carter Esau Piano Tuning and Repair, passed away peacefully at the age of 79 years, on May 3rd, 2024.
Born in 1944 to George and Carol Esau, Carter grew up in Copper Cliff in a loving home alongside his twin sister Drene Luck. He met the love of his life, Allison Sarty, and they were
happily married for many years until her passing. Carter was a dedicated father to his children Charles (Liane) and June (Steven), and a loving grandfather to Alec, Ryan, and Julia. He will also be missed by his many relatives and friends. He took great pride in his work as a piano tuner and repairman, founding his company in 1967. He was still helping people stay in tune. He was known for his skillful craftsmanship and the care he showed towards each instrument he worked on. In his spare time, Carter enjoyed old cars, particularly his Mazda Miata, and anything made by
Honda, including his lawnmower and snow blower. He had a deep appreciation for music and always found joy in the simple pleasures of life. Carter will be remembered for his kindness, patience, sense of humor and positive outlook on life. He had a gift for making those around him feel valued and heard, and his presence will be greatly missed by all who knew him.

A Celebration of Life will be announced at a later date.
