In loving memory of Norman Paul Lenart, 95 years, who passed peacefully on Thursday April 25, 2024, at Health Sciences North. Beloved Husband of Joan (nee King Retty predeceased 2022), loving father to Sharon Tessier (predeceased 2002), Jeff (Barb), John, Tim Retty (predeceased 2010), Gregg Retty(Anne) and loving grandfather to Chase Retty, Joel Tessier and David Tessier
Norm was born in Rock Creek, Ohio and after high school joined the United States Navy and served his country honorably enabling him to attend and graduate from Ohio State University with a degree as a Geologist. He moved his family to Sudbury in 1965 to work for Inco. He had a love of flying and in the late 70s earned his pilot’s license and purchased a plane, which he and Joan used to travel extensively throughout North America.
Norm was a proud Mason and Shriner and dedicated decades to raising money for the various Shiners charities and Children’s hospital. He served as President of the Sudbury Shrine Club and later as Ambassador Emeritus. Norm was a kind, caring person with an infectious smile and was loved by everyone that was fortunate enough to spend time with him. He now joins Joan and will be sadly missed by family and friends. Special thanks to Gisele, Grant, Alyssa and James. There will be a celebration of life/visitation at Jackson and Barnard Funeral Home, 233 Larch St., Sudbury on Saturday June 15, 2024, from 12-3 pm.
