Updated: Highway re-opened after vehicle fire

Stretch of highway was closed for roughly three hours

OPP Northeast has confirmed that Highway 69 has been re-opened following a vehicle this afternoon.

A stretch of roughly 100 kilometres had been shut down for almost three hours.

The OPP is warning drivers that a burning vehicle has closed Highway 69 north of Parry Sound.

Police say a commercial vehicle fire is the cause of the closure. 

It's unknown if there is a detour in the area or how long the road will be closed.

The highway is closed for a stretch of nearly 100 kilometres ,from approximately 45 kilometres north of Pointe au Baril to around 63 kilometres south of Magnetewan.
