TEMISKAMING SHORES — Mischief in Temiskaming Shores has caused $23,500 in damage after vandals opened a fire hydrant there Friday morning.

OPP say it was shortly before 8 a.m. when they responded to a call for mischief at Rebecca and Elm Street, in New Liskeard.

They believe that shortly after 4 a.m. someone removed the lid and opened the fire hydrant.

"The water ran for some time, causing water breaks in the area," said Constable Jennifer Smith.

The investigation is ongoing and police are seeking anyone with information to call 1-888-310-1122.
