A knifing and metal pipe assault in Sturgeon

West Nipissing police are investigating a pair of violent assaults.

On April 28 The West Nipissing Police were called in relation to an injured man that had been drinking and had been cut.

Upon further investigation, police learned that two men were arguing in a home when it escalated and became physical.

A knife was pulled and one of the men got cut. The victim was taken to the hospital for serious injuries to his arm. The other man was arrested and charged for assault with a weapon. 

Then on April 30 police were called to the hospital in regards to a man that had sustained injuries to his head. Police investigated and learned that the victim was attacked from behind with a metal pipe by a man known to him.

The man assaulted the victim by striking him to the head with the metal pipe, then fled on foot.

The investigation is ongoing.
