Almost $54,000 worth of stuff stolen while homeowners slept

Temiskaming OPP report a brazen theft took place Thursday and they're looking for the public's help.

At approximately 8:30 a.m. police got a call about a break and enter and theft of a car from Latchford Street, in Temiskaming Shores.

It was discovered that the crime occurred between 2:30 and 6:30 a.m. on Thursday when the residence was broken into.

The occupants continued to sleep as the following items were taken:

  • Large-screen, Samsung television, valued at $2,700.
  • White Samsung tablet, valued at $500.
  • White Samsung Galaxy Prime cellphone, valued at $200.
  • 2017 brown Buick Envision, valued at over $50,000.

Later that afternoon the car was recovered, near Giroux Lake, south of Cobalt. The additional stolen items remain missing.
