Body found on beach in Sault, Michigan region

SAULT STE. MARIE, MICH. - At approximately 11:15 a.m. on Saturday, Oct. 22, the body of and adult female was found on the beach near the Great Lakes Shipwreck Museum in Whitefish Township of Chippewa County, Mich.

Michigan State Police (MSP) troopers from the Sault Ste. Marie post responded to the scene to investigate the incident.

The female was pronounced dead at the scene by the Chippewa County Medical Examiner (ME).

A full and complete investigation of this incident is currently underway to determine the cause and manner of death by the MSP and the ME.

The female has been identified as 42-year-old Allyson Motylinski-Jenkins of Maybee, Mich. in Monroe County.

Troopers were assisted at the scene by detectives from the MSP Eighth District Headquarters in Marquette and the Negaunee Post, the MSP Grayling Crime Laboratory, the Michigan Department of Natural Resources (DNR), and personnel from Whitefish Township EMS.
