Canada improved to a perfect 10-0 victory with a 14-6 pounding of the last place Italian team on Thursday night at the 2018 Ford World Women's Curling Championship in North Bay Memorial Gardens tonight.
The Team Canada rink skipped by Jennifer Jones scored a deuce in the first, fourth and sixth ends and then put up three in five.
Team Canada Alternate Shannon Birchard came in to replace second Jill Officer near the midway point of the game.
However, a score of four in eight led to handshakes with the Italians who dropped to 2-9.
Canada is back in action Friday morning at 9 a.m. when they take on Japan.
