KIRKLAND LAKE – On August 11, 2016 at approximately 12:30 p.m. Members of the Kirkland Lake Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) were called to the scene of an Ontario Northland (ON) train derailment.
The derailment occurred at Swan Lake approximately 16 km north of Kenogami, where a number of rail cars carrying copper concentrate derailed.
There were no injuries or damage to other property. The Ministry of Environment was contacted to attend the derailment site.
The cause of the derailment is still under investigation.
