DIY slime recalled for chemical hazard

According to Health Canada, the toys do not meet the Canadian toy safety requirements for boric acid content

A make-your-own-slime kit is being recalled in Canada due to a chemical hazard.

According to Health Canada, DIY Shake Slime toys do not meet the Canadian toy safety requirements for boric acid content.

There are seven different Shake Slime products named in the recall, including scented, glitter, confetti and galaxy variations. A full list can be found on Health Canada’s website.

As of August 25, they had not received any reports of injuries, but boric acid can be toxic to children if licked or swallowed.

Health Canada recommends that consumers immediately take away the recalled toy from children and dispose of the product. Just under 10,000 units have been sold in Canada.
