NORTH BAY — North Bay has its first COVID-19 positive patient admitted to hospital.

The patient was admitted to North Bay Regional Health Centre Thursday, and is a woman in her sixties who had recently returned from Florida.

BayToday will provide additional information as it becomes available.

Meanwhile, the Health Unit continues to show just six confirmed cases, but indicates the hospitalized woman is one of those six.

A total of 339 tests have been conducted.

Of the six confirmed, three have been resolved, two are still self-isolating including a man in his sixties who also recently returned from Florida.

The Health Unit believes one of the self-isolators, in his 30s, contracted the disease through community spread.

Of the six cases, five are in the Nipissing district, while the sixth is from the Parry Sound district.
