The iconic lighthouse at the Pembroke Marina has fallen victim to the rising floodwaters of the Ottawa River.

The lighthouse toppled during the evening of April 26, and several residents posted pictures on social media of the lighthouse floating in the water.

Renfrew County declared a state of emergency April 29, the latest area in eastern Ontario to do so.

Five local municipalities in Renfrew County previously declared states of emergency: Whitewater Region, Horton, McNab/Braeside, Laurentian Valley and Greater Madawaska. States of emergency are also in effect in Ottawa and several other municipalities in eastern Ontario and western Quebec.
