Four fires in Northeast Region so far

So far this season we have seen four fires in the Northeast Region, one in Parry Sound and two in North Bay.

There is currently one active fire in the region, says the Ministry of Natural Resources and Forestry in a news release.

Hearst 1 is under control at five hectares.

The forest fire hazard will continue to move north as the snow melts.

So far this season we have seen four fires in the Northeast Region, one in Parry Sound and two in North Bay.

The forest fire hazard is currently low to moderate across the region.

The Aviation, Forest Fire and Emergency Services program is reminding people that spring is grass fire season and grass fires can be a deadly and destructive menace. Seek alternatives to spring burning by considering composting or using your local landfill. Don’t be the reason behind a spring wildfire this year.
