Children at Gatineau's L'école du Cheval-Blanc will be allowed to roughhouse under strict supervision by teachers.
The Commission Scolaire des Draveurs said in a news release Thursday, that they plan to set up a roughhousing area where students can take part in shoving one another in this "unconventional activity."
It said Physical Education teachers will show children how to push properly, to avoid discomfort and reduce the risk of injury.
The school board added that "all the moves and gestures of violence will be strictly banned," and that the activity will remain "a peaceful game reserved exclusively for students who manifest the desire to participate."
Only kids in Grade 3 will be involved in this project at first, and it will only last for as long as snow is on the ground.
The roughhousing game is expected to begin following March break.
