Strict new regulations have been put in place to regulate the use of drones in Canada (Leith Dunick, tbnewswatch.com).

OPP are reminding operators of Unmanned Arial Vehicles (UAV) that it is their responsibility for flying the drone safely and legally.

More and more people are using UAV's for work or pleasure. Transport Canada regulates their use to keep the public and airspace safe.

In Canada, you must follow the rules set out in the Canadian Aviation Regulations and respect the Criminal Code as well as all municipal, provincial, and territorial laws related to trespassing and privacy.

Not following the rules could put lives at risk and cost you up to $25,000 in fines.

OPP Inspector Yves Forget reminds UAV operators to avoid flying over private property or taking photos or videos without permission.
