The Guelph Humane Society is looking for information from the public after two gerbils were found in a dumpster earlier this week.

The gerbils were found in separate cages in a temporary dumpster at 186 Fife Rd. on Nov. 27 and brought to the shelter four days later.

The two female gerbils are both are in good condition, despite having been exposed to cold temperatures for an unknown length of time, said the humane society, adding that the temperature on Nov. 27th was 1 C and an ideal temperate for a gerbil is 22 C or warmer.

The gerbils, named Nessa and Nienna, are now available for adoption at GHS.
