West Nipissing police are particularly concerned about a break and enter in that community last week

Chief Ray St.Pierre says on January 18, police responded to a complaint of a break, enter and theft at a Lafreniere Road property near Lavigne.

The victim of the theft told police that someone came on the property, forced open a number of outbuildings and stole a number of items.

"Thieves made off with some tools, gas cans, and what is most concerning, two firearms, a 410 and a .22 calibre," said St.Pierre. "The property owner has been to the property on a regular basis and the offence is believed to have occurred between January 15 and 18."

The investigation is ongoing.
