A hammer was used in a domestic dispute over the weekend and police have laid charges against a local woman.
Police say that at approximately 3 a.m. on Saturday, an argument between a woman and a female victim in their shared home turned violent when the attacker grabbed a hammer, threatened the victim, forced the victim to stay and then physically hit her.
The blow was not struck with the hammer.
The victim was able to leave shortly thereafter and the accused also left the premises.
She was later found by police at another residence where she was arrested and taken into custody.
A 24-year old North Bay woman is charged with:
- one count of domestic assault;
- one count of assault with a weapon;
- one count of forcible confinement;
- one count of uttering threats; and
- three counts of breach of Officer in Charge undertaking.
North Bay Police say they are withholding the accused name in the interest of protecting the identity of the victim
The woman was held in custody for a bail hearing.
