COCHRANE – The James Bay Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) under the direction of Detective Inspector Colleen McCormick of the OPP Criminal Investigation Branch (CIB) has ended the search for a missing Cochrane, Ontario female.

After an autopsy on May 16, 2016, in Sudbury, police have determined that the human remains located in Fournier Township are that of missing person, Aline Lalonde (also known as Aline New).

On May 9, 2016, OPP charged Richard New, a 41-year-old male from Cochrane, with second degree murder in connection with her death. He is scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Cochrane on June 7, 2016.

The investigation is continuing and any person with information about this incident is asked to immediately contact the Ontario Provincial Police, James Bay Detachments, Cochrane office at 1-888-310-1122.
