On April 27, 2016 at 6:53 p.m., the Guelph Police conducted a traffic stop with a motor vehicle on Paisley Road.

The vehicle occupants were an adult male and his four year old daughter.

The male driver identified to police by using an expired drivers licence and health card. Investigation determined that the male was not who he identified as and he was arrested.

A search subsequent to his arrest discovered a replica handgun, two knives, more identifications belonging to various people and a small quantity of Crystal Methamphetamine, Cocaine and Marijuana.

A 42-year-old Kitchener man has been charged with obstruct police, impersonation with intent, possess property obtained by crime, possess identity documents, two counts of weapons dangerous, careless use of a firearm, carry a concealed weapon and three counts of possession of a controlled substance.

He was also charged with drive motor vehicle – no currently validated permit and drive while under suspension under the Highway Traffic Act.

He has been held in custody pending a bail hearing on April 28, 2016.
