Human remains found in Bonfield IDed as man missing since 2009

Police have identified  the human remains found in Bonfield last week.

On October 9, OPP, under the direction of Detective Inspector Mark Zulinski investigated found human remains on a private property in Bonfield Township.

The search for the remains was completed on the evening of October 13, after police carried out a search through very dense and rugged terrain.

The remains were taken to the Northeast Region Forensic Pathology Unit at the Health Sciences North Hospital in Sudbury where a post mortem exam was conducted on October 17.

The human remains were identified as Michael Laframboise, age 42, at the time of his disappearance, of Mattawa.

At the time of his disappearance on May 9, 2009, an extensive search was conducted by officers of the North Bay OPP Detachment, Canine Team and Emergency Response Team (ERT).

There is no foul play suspected in the discovery of the remains and OPP advise that there is no concern for public safety relating to this incident.
