No new forest fires in the northeast region for second day in a row

No new fires have been discovered in the Northeast region as of late this afternoon, Aviation, Forest Fire and Emergency Services stated in a release issued today.
 

Currently, there are seven active fires in the region, which are either being held or under control.


The fire hazard in areas located west of Hearst along the highway 11 corridor is mostly low to moderate, as well as along the North Shore of Lake Huron. In the rest of the Northeast Region, the fire hazard varies from moderate to extreme, with areas east and south of Rolphton and Cardiff presenting an extreme hazard this afternoon.
