No new forest fires in the region, one active fire not under control

As of early Thursday evening, no new forest fires were confirmed in the region by Aviation, Forest Fire and Emergency Services.

The northeast region of the province currently has nine active fires, one of which is not under control as of the latest update.

Hearst 4, located north of Constance Lake, is 1,850 hectares as of Thursday evening.

Of the remaining eight active fires in the northeast, six are being observed, one is under control, and one is being held.

The fire hazard in the region ranges from moderate to high with the exception of the far north, which is showing a low to moderate hazard today.

In the northwest region, which covers the Thunder Bay area, two new fires were confirmed on Thursday, one of which was not under control.

The northwest has 82 active fires as of the latest update.
