The North Bay Police claim they have just made the largest seizure of fentanyl ever conducted by the Service.
On Thursday, October 14, 2021, members of the North Bay Police Service say they arrested an individual on drug trafficking charges and seized over $348,000 in illicit drugs.
At approximately 5:20 p.m. on Thursday, October 14, 2021, as part of an investigation into suspected drug trafficking, the North Bay Police Service arrested the accused at a residence on Bloem Street, North Bay. Subsequently, members of the North Bay Police Service and the OPP executed a search warrant on the residence.
The accused in this matter is Brian Allen, male, age 38 of North Bay, who is charged with:
- One count of Possession of a Schedule I substance for the purpose of Trafficking – Fentanyl
- One count of Possession of a Schedule I substance for the purpose of Trafficking – Cocaine
- One count of Possession of a Schedule I substance for the purpose of Trafficking – Methamphetamine
- One count of Possession of proceeds of property obtained by crime under $5000
- One count of Unauthorized Possession of Weapon
- One count of Possession of a weapon contrary to Prohibition Order
- One count of Failure to comply with undertaking
- One count of Knowledge of Unauthorized Possession of Weapon
The investigation and search by police resulted in the seizure of:
- Approximately 901 grams of suspected Fentanyl
- Approximately 211 grams of suspected cocaine
- Approximately 74 grams of suspected crystal methamphetamine
- Prohibited weapon – brass knuckles
- Approximately $3,790 in currency
- Suspected drug trafficking materials
- A GMC SUV as Offence-related Property
This investigation was conducted by members of the North Bay Police Service’s Street Crime Unit and the Ontario Provincial Police Community Street Crime Unit, the North Bay Police Service’s Criminal Investigation Section and North Bay Police Service patrol.
This investigation is the result of the ongoing partnership between the North Bay Police Service and the OPP which ensures that those responsible for the trafficking of illicit substances are brought to justice.
The accused is being held pending a bail hearing at the North Bay Courthouse.
