NORTH BAY — The installation of the city’s first beach accessible mat was rolled out THursday.

Located off the boardwalk at Marathon Beach the mat will allow those using wheelchairs and who have other mobility issues to access and enjoy Lake Nipissing.

The mat will be named “Wheels to the Water” in honour of the late Adam “Wheels” Miller, who served on the City’s Municipal Accessibility Advisory Committee and was a strong advocate for reducing barriers and making all beaches accessible to everyone.
