Northern Ontario Secondary Schools Athletics has followed the lead of Ontario Federation School Athletic Association and has cancelled all its winter sport championships.
"With regret, following a similar announcement from OFSAA last week, all NOSSA winter sport championships will be cancelled this year," NOSSA stated via Twitter on Monday.

The northern group, which includes Nipissing District Athletics (NDA), noted that the decision includes hockey, girls curling, volleyball, boys basketball, nordic and alpine skiing, swimming and wrestling.
Nick Rowe, OFSAA President, made the provincial announcement last week.
"After a meeting of our Return To Sports Working Group in recent days, OFSAA 's executive council determined that the current reopening regulations within the province have not progressed to the point where our winter championships and festivals can take place," he stated.
