A North Bay pedestrian is in the hospital today with what police are calling "life-threatening" injuries, BayToday.com is reporting.

Staff Sergeant Larry Asselin says the accident happened at approximately 6 a.m. when a pedestrian/motor vehicle collision occurred in the 200 block of Mountainview Dr, near Trout Lake.

"The pedestrian was transported to hospital by paramedics with serious, life-threatening injuries," said Asselin. "North Bay Police Service officers are currently on scene investigating the accident."

Mountainview Drive is closed from Wickstead Avenue through to Lake Heights and police are asking drivers to avoid the area.

The city says the Graniteville bus run will be rerouted Wickstead to Wallace Road, with two temporary bus stops, one at Wickstead before Wallace and one at Wallace just before Lake Heights.
