North Bay police find man shot dead in Pinewood area home

Police believe this is not a random attack and there is no concern for public safety

The North Bay Police are investigating a shooting death that took place last night in the city.  

Shortly before 9 pm on December 5th members of the North Bay Police responded to an incident in the Pinewood area of North Bay.

Officers, including members of the Emergency Response Team, responded to a firearm related call. Upon arrival, they found a man in a residence suffering from gunshot wounds. He was transported to hospital and shortly after arrival was pronounced dead.

North Bay Police are currently seeking the whereabouts of at least one suspect in this investigation. Police believe this was not a random attack and that there is no concern for public safety. However, the firearm involved in the incident has not been recovered yet. 

Police do not have a description of the suspects at this time.

North Bay Police are not releasing the name of the victim until next of kin has been notified.

The North Bay Police Criminal Investigation Section is continuing the investigation at this time with the assistance of the North Bay Forensic Identification Unit.

Of note, police initially indicated in a release that the incident occurred in Pinewood Park, but it was confirmed to be the Pinewood area.
