UPDATED - Parry Sound OPP said the death of four people in Ryerson Township near Burk's Falls is being treated as triple homicide/suicide. 

According to a news release by the authorities suggest that the three victims - two females and one male – were related and resided in the house where the crime occurred. The fourth victim – an adult male was not related to the victims.

The police have also recovered firearms from the scene and are currently investigating the cause of death pending a post-mortem examination.

The Parry Sound OPP are investigating after four dead bodies with what police say are obvious signs of trauma were found in a home in Ryerson Township near Burk's Falls last night. 

At 7:30 p.m. the Almaguin Highlands OPP responded to a distress call at a residence on Starratt Road in Ryerson Township. In the home, police located four adults, deceased and bearing obvious signs of trauma. 

While the identities of the victims have not been confirmed, among the dead were two men and two women. 

The North East OPP's Criminal Investigations Unit is investigating, alongside the forensic identification unit, emergency response team and a canine unit. Police say the preliminary investigation hopes to identify the victims and answer questions such as who placed the distress call and what caused the deaths.
