Huronia West OPP have charged a Wasaga Beach man with second degree murder in connection with one of two long weekend murders in that town.

A 21-year old man whose name has not been released is under arrest for the murder of 23-year old Erick Tello Arias of Caledon.

"The name of the accused won't be released until he appears in court," said OPP Const. Mark Kinney. "That is scheduled for tomorrow."

Tello Arias was stabbed to death on Holiday Monday, May 23 at around 3:30 a.m. on Main Street in Wasaga Beach.

Just two days before, 18-year old Francesco Molinaro of Caledon was also stabbed to death after an altercation at Pizza Pizza on Mosley Street around 10:30 p.m. on Sat. May 21.

"The two murders are still being treated as separate investigations," said Kinney Tuesday.

In a news release, the OPP said the Tello Arias investigation is continuing by members of the Central Region Support Team, Detectives from Crime Units throughout Central Region and West Region, the OPP Forensic Identification Services Unit and the Emergency Response Team under the direction of Acting Detective Inspector Randy Wright of the OPP Criminal Investigation Branch.

"We definitely are looking for more assistance from the public," Kinney said.
