Police make arrest in Thunder Bay homicide

A 40-year-old Thunder Bay man faces a second-degree murder after a body was found in an Arundel Street home on Nov. 13. 

Police said in a news release that officers were dispatched to a residential address in the 300 block of Arundel Street just after 2 p.m. on Wednesday, following reports of a death. 

Superior North EMS and firefighters with Thunder Bay Fire Rescue were also dispatched to the scene. Attempts were made to resuscitate the man who was found in the home. 

Now, investigators with the Major Crimes Unit have confirmed the death was likely a homicide, and have identified the victim as Nazareth Andrew Kwandibens, 41, of Thunder Bay. 

The accused, who police have not named, is scheduled to appear in bail court Nov. 14.

Police continue to hold the scene. The investigation is ongoing.
