Alkanater brand tahini is sold in Ontario, Quebec and possibly nationally.

A popular brand of tahini is being recalled because of possible salmonella contamination.

Alkanater brand tahina, known more commonly as tahini, was sold in Ontario, Quebec and may have been distributed nationally. 

The recall impacts the 454 g containers with UPC code 6 92551 00002 0, and an expiration date of August 20, 2020. 

Consumers should throw out the product or return it to the store where it was purchased. 

There have been no reported illnesses.
