Doogan's Pet Centre, in a post to Facebook, says a red-haired Cockapoo stolen in a break and enter early Sunday morning has been recovered and is "at home safe with staff."

The nine-week-old puppy and four eight-week-old kittens were taken in a bizarre incident caught on security cameras.

Police are looking for a bearded suspect who was wearing a pompom toque and capri pants. 

The kittens are still missing and police have said the animals have only had their first round of vaccinations and require ongoing care, as they are susceptible to dehydration and digestion complications.

Doogan's posted the following note about the recovery of the puppy asking that anyone who knows where the kittens are to contact police:
