Second degree murder suspect may be in the area, say police

A Canada-wide warrant for second-degree murder has been issued for Habiton Solomon. Solomon could be in the area as he is known to frequent North Bay, police say.

A man wanted on a Canada-wide warrant for second degree murder, Habiton Solomon, 20, may be in the area, say Waterloo Regional Police.

The Major Crime Unit says Solomon is wanted in connection to a homicide in Kitchener on August 13 and has connections to North Bay, Huntsville, Ottawa, Windsor, Brantford, and Hamilton. 

He is considered armed and dangerous. If seen, do not approach him but call 9-1-1 immediately.

One man is already under arrest in connection to the homicide. On September 27, a 19-year-old Hamilton man was arrested and charged with manslaughter. 

Solomon is described as 5’8”, 130 pounds, with a thin build, black hair, and brown eyes.

On August 13 an 18-year-old Kitchener male died after being shot outside a business in Kitchener.

Investigators believe that this homicide was directly witnessed by approximately 10 people.

The suspect was last seen running on Queen Street South towards Joseph Street.

Investigators believe this to be a targeted incident.
