Snowmobile impounded after cops catch impaired Elliot Lake sledder

The woman was arrested and the snowmobile was towed and impounded.

It's not just drunk drivers that police are on the lookout for.

OPP say on December 16, at approximately 10:20 p.m., an officer on general patrol duties in Elliot Lake saw a snowmobile travelling at a high rate of speed on the roadway blow by a stop sign. 

The machine was stopped and upon speaking to the female driver, a strong odour of alcohol was detected on her breath. 

As a result, the woman was arrested and the snowmobile was towed and impounded.

A 40-year-old Elliot Lake woman was charged with:

  • Driving with More than 80 mgs. of Alcohol in Blood, 
  • Driving while Under Suspension, and
  • Disobey stop sign - fail to stop,
