When OPP officers, on regular patrol duties saw a speeding car Saturday morning in Blind River, they did what cops do...they stopped it.
Police say the westbound vehicle was travelling at a high rate of speed and when they stopped it the driver was using his deceased brother’s driver’s licence.
The driver was in fact, suspended.
As a result, a 62-year-old man from Sagamok First Nation was charged with:
-
Obstruct Peace Officer,
-
Driving While Under Suspension, and
-
Driver Fail to give Identification,
He is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Blind River on March 2.
