THUNDER BAY -- A long weekend tugboat heist from the marina has police searching for a teen suspect.

Security at Prince Arthur's Landing called the Thunder Bay Police Service on Saturday afternoon after the teen was seen jumping a fence and heading onto the water in a 27-foot long tugboat. The Coast Guard was also called to help track down the stolen vessel.

The boat was eventually found on a sandbar in the Mission Marsh area. The suspect was seen running away from that location.

Arrangements were made to tow the boat back to the marina to assess the damage.

The suspect is described as a teen Caucasian male, about five-foot-nine with dark, messy hair. He was wearing jeans and a blue t-shirt. Anyone with information is asked to contact police or Crime Stoppers.
