Three new fires discovered in the northeast

There are currently three fires in the region that are not under control

The Ministry of Natural Resources' Aviation, Forest Fire and Emergency Services division has confirmed three new forest fires in the northeast region as of Wednesday evening.

Hearst 11, located southeast of Jog Lake, is currently under control at 0.1 of a hectare.

Hearst 12, also located southeast of Jog Lake, is being observed at four hectares.

North Bay 17, located east of Temagami River Provincial Park, is not under control at 0.1 of a hectare.

The fire is one of three in the region not under control at this time.

The other fires not under control include:

  • Hearst 4, located north of Constance Lake, is 1,850 hectares
  • Wawa 15, located southeast of Eager Lake, is 30.8 hectares

Of the other eight fires in the region, six are being observed and two are under control as of Wednesday evening.

The fire hazard ranges from moderate to high across the region with the exception of the far north, which is showing a low to moderate hazard on Wednesday.
