Thunder Bay homeowner restrains break-in suspect

Several Thunder Bay Police units responded to reports of a break-in at a Shuniah Street home.

THUNDER BAY - Thunder Bay Police have charged a 21-year-old Thunder Bay man with several offences after a homeowner at a north side residence was surprised to find an unwanted individual inside their home early Tuesday morning.

Thunder Bay Police were called to a home on the 200 block of Shuniah Street for a report of a break and enter Tuesday morning at approximately 9 a.m.

According to police, the homeowner surprised the accused inside of the home and restrained him before police were called.

Six Thunder Bay Police Service units responded to the call.

The accused is facing charges of breaking and entering, resisting arrest, and possession of property obtained by crime.
