Timmins police release identity of body found in latest vehicle fire

Human remains are those of a 23-year-old Schumacher man

The Timmins Police Service said today the Centre of Forensic Sciences in Toronto has been able to confirm the identity of the human remains found at the scene of a vehicle fire on Brundy Lane in Schumacher, near the city, on May 18.

The post-mortem examination idenfied the body as that of Kirk Thurston Jr., age 23.

Officers with Timmins Police Service's Criminal Investigations Division continue to investigate in conjunction with the Office of the Regional Coroner.

As previously disclosed, Richard Green, 41, of Timmins, has been arrested and charged, and remains in custody awaiting trial.

Richard “Ricky” Green was arrested without incident, police said, on Tuesday this week.

He has been charged with second degree murder, indignity to a dead body, arson and theft of a motor vehicle.
