OPP say the driver of that transport that smashed through guardrails at the Highway 11 and 17 intersection yesterday morning has been charged.

A tractor trailer transporting non-hazardous material travelling westbound on Highway 17 took the southbound ramp onto Highway 11 but flipped over the railing and down a steep embankment.

The North Bay Fire Department used the Jaws of Life to extricate the driver from the vehicle. He sustained non-life threatening injuries and was taken to hospital by the North Bay and District Ambulance Service.
