Two new fires in Northeast Region...hazard high.

The MNRF reports there are two new fires in the Northeast Region, as of mid-afternoon on May 11 and the forest fire hazard is high in most of the region.

  • North Bay 6 is 0.1 of a hectare and not under control.
  • ​Cochrane 4 covers 5 hectares and is not under control.

There are currently four other active fires in the Northeast region. See fire map above.

  • North Bay 4 covers 3.7 hectares and is under control.
  • North Bay 5 covers 5.7 hectares and is under control. 
  • Parry Sound 3 covers 2.2 hectares and is under control.
  • Chapleau 3 covers 1.5 hectares and is under control.

The Northeast region has shifted staff members to assist in the Northwest region with ongoing fires and an elevated fire hazard.
