On Tuesday, November 14, Mattawa OPP got a 911 call about a female striking a vehicle with an axe.
Someone was inside the vehicle at the time of the attack.
The person inside the vehicle drove away, and the attacker followed.
Police found the two vehicles on Main Street in Mattawa and were able to get them stopped by blocking the bridge.
A 19-year old woman from Mattawa has been arrested and charged with:
- Two counts of Assault with a Weapon and
- Spousal Assault.
She was released on a Promise to Appear with a date to attend the Ontario Court of Justice in Mattawa on January 10, 2018.
